Classroom Counseling
We provide school counseling services for our students on various levels. We meet with students as a whole group. These lessons are done in the classrooms, and various topics are discussed.
Small Group Counseling
We also conduct small group counseling opportunities for students to focus on a particular skill. Small groups are generally provided on a quarterly basis and students are referred by parents or teachers. A permission slip will always be sent home before a group starts.
Individual Counseling
We work with students one on one to address various concerns such as anxiety, behavior management, emotion regulation, grief, family changes, and more. We both strive to provide an environment that allows the student to become their true selves. We actively listen and provide support for students in an empathetic way. Our individual sessions are brief, solution focused, and goal oriented. Together we work to achieve that goal. Students may be referred for individual counseling by any member of school staff, a parent/guardian or by themselves. The parent/guardian will be contacted when your child is referred to meet with us. After working with a student we may come to the conclusion that the student would benefit from professional mental health counseling. Families will be contacted about this option and provided a list of outside mental health counseling referrals.
